Equipment requirements reviewed
The heat-pump and associated hot-water equipment ratings were used to plan the required electrical circuits and connection arrangements.
Birmingham heat-pump electrical project
Dedicated electrical supplies were installed for a Vaillant aroTHERM plus air-source heat pump and associated hot-water equipment as part of a larger property upgrade.

The installation
The Birmingham property was receiving new low-carbon heating equipment, including a Vaillant air-source heat pump and hot-water cylinder. The electrical work had to account for the specified loads, the existing distribution equipment and the connection requirements for each part of the system.
Dedicated supplies were installed for the Vaillant equipment with suitable circuit protection and local isolation. The cable routes and outdoor connection were completed neatly, then the new electrical work was inspected, tested and documented ready for the heating system to be commissioned.
What the job involved
Real project detail helps customers see the standard of work and what is considered behind a neat finished installation.
The heat-pump and associated hot-water equipment ratings were used to plan the required electrical circuits and connection arrangements.
New circuits were provided for the selected equipment with cable sizes and protection chosen for the design and installation conditions.
An accessible outdoor isolator was installed beside the heat pump so the unit can be safely isolated for commissioning, servicing and repair.
The completed electrical work was inspected and tested, with the new circuits identified and the appropriate certification completed.
