Meter tails split
The supply was arranged to serve a separate EV consumer unit without trying to force the new circuit into the existing distribution board.
Recent Dudley weekend installation
A complete home-charging installation for Allan, including split meter tails, dedicated EV protection, a 6 mm Ultra EV supply cable and a tethered SyncEV charger configured on the customer’s phone.

The installation
The existing supply was split so the EV charger could be served by its own dedicated consumer unit. The new board included Type 2 surge protection and a B40 double-pole Type A RCBO selected for the charging circuit.
A 6 mm Ultra EV cable was routed carefully through the property to keep the visible section as discreet as possible. The tethered SyncEV charger was then mounted beside the driveway, tested, commissioned and set up in the app on Allan’s phone.
What the job involved
Real project detail helps customers see the standard of work and what is considered behind a neat finished installation.
The supply was arranged to serve a separate EV consumer unit without trying to force the new circuit into the existing distribution board.
The black SyncEV board provides a labelled EV charging circuit, Type 2 surge protection and double-pole Type A RCBO protection.
Extra time was taken to keep the 6 mm Ultra EV cable route out of sight wherever practical and preserve the appearance of the property.
The completed installation was inspected, tested and commissioned before the charger was configured on the customer’s phone and the paperwork completed.
Customer feedback
★★★★★Friendly, professional job“Another friendly, professional job completed by Shaun. Extra effort made to conceal the cable for the most aesthetic presentation. Well done and thank you. Would highly recommend.”
