Electrical Installation
SL4 Electrical Services completed the electrical installation for the dedicated RC racing workshop at SMB Raceway in Cradley Heath, providing a new supply, distribution, lighting and socket circuits for competitors and race-day equipment.
The commercial project
A dedicated electrical supply for the RC racing workshop.
The purpose-built workshop gives competitors a dedicated place to prepare and work on their RC cars, charge batteries and equipment, and use the facilities during race events at SMB Raceway.
SL4 ran a new submain from the main garage to the outbuilding, then installed a dedicated FuseBox distribution board with surge protection and individual circuit protection. Workshop lighting and multiple socket outlets were arranged around the workbench and building for practical use.
After the electrical installation had been completed, inspected and tested by SL4, Carl Jones from Accredited AV installed the interactive touchscreen used with the RC racing and timing system.

Dedicated distribution board
A FuseBox distribution board was installed for the workshop, with surge protection and individual circuit protection selected for the new installation.
Workshop lighting
Lighting was installed to provide practical illumination across the workbench and the wider workshop during preparation and race events.
Sockets around the workspace
Multiple socket outlets were positioned around the workbench and building so competitors can power tools, RC equipment and battery chargers without relying on unsuitable extensions.
Inspection and certification
The completed electrical work was inspected and tested, with the relevant certification supplied for the new installation.
Interactive race display
Once SL4 had finished the electrical installation, Accredited AV completed the separate interactive touchscreen and AV installation for the racing and timing system.
